Originally from Saint Simons Island, Georgia, Liisa Dewhurst received her BSN from Valdosta State University in 1999, where she received the Spirit of Nursing Award. After working in the gastroenterology lab and the recovery room for five years, she moved to Atlanta to further her education and work at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Surgery Center. She attended Emory University, receiving her Masters in Nursing in 2005.
Liisa joined Georgia Urology Pediatrics in 2006 where she is one of two coordinators in the HAWK Center, specializing in dysfunctional elimination, recurrent urinary tract infections, incontinence, and enuresis. She also oversees the HAWK Center's Pelvic Muscle Rehabilitation Program.
Liisa is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Pediatric Urologic Nurse Specialists, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society.
Liisa lives with her husband and two daughters in the Alpharetta area and enjoys reading, exercising, watching movies, and spending time with her family.
