Dr. Shelfo completed his undergraduate degree magna cum
laude at Rensselear Polytechnic Institute, where he completed an
accelerated six-year (rather than eight-year) biomedical program.
He graduated cum laude from Albany Medical College. He then
completed both an internship and residency at Yale-New Haven
Hospital. He also completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at
the University of Miami Medical School.
Dr. Shelfo's areas of urologic expertise are urologic
oncology, prostate cancer, bladder cancer, urinary diversion and
reconstructive surgery, and robotic surgery.
Dr. Shelfo is a member of the American Urologic
Association, Fellow American College of Surgeons, and Southeastern
Urologic Association.
Dr. Shelfo is also involved in the Southern Crescent
Robotic Surgery Program.
Dr. Shelfo is a native of Lidenhurst, New York. He and his
wife, Christine, have three children and have lived in Peachtree
City, Georgia since 1997.
